Well the travel was super easy. Now that we are in Mexico City we can hang out for the day and begin the acclimation process. We were wound up last night and went for a nice long walk and ended up getting tacos and a beer from a street vendor at midnight. I will tell those of you whom have never eaten real tacos that is almost an religious experience!

My Spanish has never been great, and it will be a couple of days until I get into the flow. I wish I could use a slow-motion machine on people when they talk to me.

I did run this morning as the smog was minimal. It is a very nice day here today as I sit outside a Starbucks typing this (see my view). Locals must think I am nuts because no one else is outside. It is a bit cool but warm for Oregon.image

I am also glad to be back at the Hotel Maria Christina. It has been 12 years since we were here last and they have remodeled it nicely. I highly recommend it when you visit Mexico City.

While I am glad to be here I am ready to get on a bus tomorrow and get to Tlachichuca at the base of the mountain. Technology may be more of an issue as we move away from the city…it has not been easy here!

More later…
